Another New Mouthpiece to Try

A few days ago, I received a new mouthpiece, an Otto Link NY “Super” Tone Master. Years ago, I played a hard rubber version on soprano sax, which I liked. Also, on two different occasions, I had the opportunity to play on a couple of Otto Links belonging to friends of mine. I could not get a good sound on either of the mouthpieces at that time. So, I put the mouthpieces out of my mind. They were not for me.

Now, years later, I thought I would give it another shot. I have heard so many players who sound fabulous using this mouthpiece. So, I fired up the new mouthpiece and got a surprise. The mouthpiece sounds great. I don’t know what is different, and I really wish I did. I wish I could say it is because I practice more now. However, back when I tried the mouthpieces, I was playing regularly.

I am happy with my purchase and look forward to using it. I still have one more mouthpiece purchase arriving in a few days. I hope it is as promising as this Otto Link.
