So as I said I would last week, I have recorded myself playing a tune that I’ve been working on for what seems like forever. The name of the song is How High The Moon. All of the songs I’ve been trying to learn are pretty easy. However, you do have to know your instrument, know some scales, and practice on a semi-regular basis. That is what I am endeavoring to do; practice sometimes.
I had not planned on recording this video right now. I was trying to figure out the best camera and mic set up and decided to give this one a try. It was pure luck that I played this song as well as I did 1st try, so I kept the recording.
I am playing on my Yamaha YTS – 62 tenor sax and my Vandoren V16 hard rubber mouthpiece. The tip opening is a T9, and I am using Vandoren Java reeds from the red box. The strength is 2 1/2.
