It has been a day since my carpal tunnel surgery. All I can think about is ripping off the bandage. I’m not sure I can wear it for 7 days. My hand hurts, but, not so much that I have to take any medication. But the bandage makes me want to scratch. It’s hot. And I can’t figure out how to take a shower without getting it wet.

I am very smelly at this point. The doctor told me to put a plastic grocery bag over my arm to take shower. I don’t think that will work, though I will try it. If it gets wet I will take it off. It is not wrapped very tightly, but, I find it uncomfortable.
In the picture above I look calm, but on the inside, I’m screaming! I don’t know what it is. As I get older the more claustrophobic I become. Could it be this bad, that I can’t even wear a bandage for 7 days? I don’t know, but it feels that way.
As far as the surgery it seems to have been successful. I did feel a little numbness in my fingers today, but it could be because of swelling at the incision. Once everything has healed I hope my fingers will feel normal. I’m just glad that I can still move them. That was my biggest fear. And they move without difficulty. So, at least I will be able to resume playing my horn.
We can duck tape a trash bag over it.
Are you suppose to be moving your fingers yet? Moving your finger causes you to move the wrist.
Let it heal the right way and it’s only 7 days. It will get better use patients and DON’T OVER DO IT

You know I’m a hard head. I’ve been playing my horn. The Doc said it was okay, just not to lift any more than 5 pounds with it. I will figure out how to clean myself up today. I smell like a billy goat.
