Stella By Starlite

A Year Later

About 9 months later

Still getting more familiar with Stella By Starlight. I have the chord progression memorized but, as you can hear in the 1st recording, I am still unsure, or at least I feel unsure about what I’m doing. You will hear some places where I stumble. And if you are jazz player you will hear some place where I certainly missed opportunities to play something more interesting than I did. And timing is everything, and I mess it up quite often.

In the 2nd recording, I am more confident. The 3rd recording is in a new key. Somehow, it changed the way I approached the song. I had better ideas but just a little unsure. You can hear lots of hesitance in many places.

At any rate, this is one of my favorite tunes. One day, I suppose I will be more satisfied with the way I play it.
