For a couple of months I have been struggling to figure out which of my latest two mouthpiece I like best. I can’t do it. The first one was made by Stephen Kammerer of SK Mouthpieces. He is a mouthpiece repair guy in New York who does fantastic work. So who better to make a mouthpiece than a guy who can repair one?
The other mouthpiece in designed by Chad L. Brown, monster sax player, and Jack Tyler of the Boston Sax Shop. The mouthpiece is the Nexus Edge, a collaboration two sax players. Who better to make a mouthpiece. Of course, most saxophone mouthpieces are made by sax players.
These are the two best tenor sax mouthpieces I have played to date, and that include my Guardala. I can’t choose between the two, so I will not. These are my two goto mouthpieces, but I don’t know how to decide which one I want to play. I know. It sounds dumb, but it is true. They both sound fantastic.
